Technology
If you are looking for a slim and quality bag then the Prime Pack is your guy. One thing I find with tactical styled backpacks is they always want to go for the bulk or large center compartment, which pushes the backpack to be awkward if it isn't full. The Prime Pack gives enough spaces for things and are large enough to divide medium to large items. The padded front pocket makes for a great space for sunglasses, keys, wallet, or other quick grab essentials. The main inner compartment opens all the way up making it easy to remove large items with ease or pack in clothes. The hidden laptop compartment on the back of the backpack is slick. It keeps my 13" laptop snug. The molle on front also makes adding an additional pack or some attachments possible and is placed on the lower side keeping the backpack more balanced. My 2 gripes of the backpack is the bag compartments have little to no inner small compartments or dividers, something to hold pens, cards, or smaller items. Everything kind of just rolls around. The 2nd issue is the bag doesn't keep form once unzipped. Meaning any weight on the top compartments cause the bag to sag making it tricky to keep it up. Now if you were to use it more as a clothes and gear bag this feature works better. However, I am not a huge fan of unstructured front panels.
I really liked this pack. Hiked with it in the rain. Traveled on a 3 day trip with it. My wife wanted to steal it.
I didn’t know I needed a new bag until I got this. The versatility is untouched. As a person that has to govern the range with 40 kids, this bag has made my organization easier. Plus my laptop is safe. Awesome bag.
So I do enjoy this bag, do not get me wrong. It’s a great everyday bag, range bag, office on the go bag. It checks lots of boxes. Has great storage options for most applications. Zippers are solid and straps have good padding.
I would like to see this pack with the same hidden hip straps the nomad has along with more back padding. Otherwise if you need a general bag for just about any daily or even weekend tasks this checks your boxes at a solid price point.
