Issued this jacket for patrol. Warm in the winter, keeps you dry in inclement weather, plenty of pockets and loop for hook and loop patches. Great product from Condor.
I've owned and used this jacket since 2019 working as a paramedic in NYC.
When I started my job, this was the jacket of choice that was worn by pretty much every employee and was recommended to me by everyone. Not only is it waterproof, it is comfortable, has the velcro on both arms for patches, and has more pockets than you'll need, in places that just make sense.
I love that you can conceal the hood if you don't need it and the drawstring waistband and hook and loop cuffs make it super easy to adjust the jacket to fit comfortably. It keeps you fairly warm on top of just a uniform shirt or a job shirt if it's really cold out. It does an excellent job of keeping the wind out and just looks badass. The arms vents also add such an awesome option for letting some air in if you're inside and don't have time to take the jacket off, or anywhere to put it once you do.
I would highly recommend this jacket early on in your career or if you need a jacket that is going to hold up for a while. The construction is top notch and I have had no issues with wear and tear over the 7 years I've had it, with fairly consistent day to day use.
Really wanted to try one of these since my coworker on duty showed me his. Finally got the chance to upgrade once my issued jacket was no longer serviceable. WOW, I wish I would have gotten one sooner. Very warm during the winter months and does well keeping the rain and snow from getting you wet. At first I thought I would hate folding hood but to be honest it’s not really that bad once stowed away. A little wonky fitting my head and the puffy collar through my pc but I’ve gotten used to it pretty quickly. And I love having the pockets on the chest area. Easy to access behind my pc as well.
I’ve been really happy with the Condor Summit Softshell Jacket. It’s warm without being bulky, blocks wind well, and handles light rain just fine. The fleece lining makes it comfortable in colder weather, and the pockets are great if you like having everything within reach. Great everyday jacket for outdoor use or colder days.
