I have used this cover for the last few years, and it remains in my winter gear bag. Each winter season, I trade out road gear and this one stays in rotation for those days when I am on the roadside on an accident or whatnot and the winds blow that artic air across the vast openness. For those days, this get pulled out. The ear flap has kept my ears protected from the winds that blow up here. I would suggest this hat for men and women. Because of the hole in the flap, this nice engineered thought allowed my wife to pull her ponytail through it and go off running, or walking in the nasty weather. That was a cause to get another or I'd a lost my hat for good.
