You really can’t beat the features packed into these pants. Only downside is the external grip texture on the knees puts a lot of stress on the seem of the ventilation fabric above the knees puts causing them to rip.
Im a female thats built like gru. And it looks great on me. I paired it with a kore essential belt. And the pants actually stay(no normal pants are able to stay up on me). LOVE THE BELT LOOPS.Great black color. The pants are slightly heavy but its not that bad. It can stain kinda easily which since its black kinda stands out but hey its meant to get dirty. Cat hair attachs easily so imagine moss and plants when wearing outdoors. All the pockets are AMAZING. High quality, looks good, feels good. Where they put the seams allows sitting and maneuvering comfortable. That velcro to adjust the knee is GENIUSSSS. Many ppl liked it on me. I never get compliments on what i wear or look so highly sugguest.
I tested these out during a Preventive Search and Rescue mission over Labor Day weekend. I was standing on the shoreline, providing assistance to our swift water crew, and was in direct sunlight in 100-degree temps for most of the day. I felt well protected from the elements and did not find the material to be too heavy like other tactical pants I have used. I had to assist several individuals to the medical tent and found the pants offered a great range of motion. I like the ease of use of the removable kneepads, as I do not like to have pads while actively hiking. I have not yet had the opportunity to fully put them to an abrasion test, but the construction seems solid.
I originally ordered a different pair of pants here that were regular because I was worried about the straight fit of the Paladin. Well after a quick switch, the Paladin pants are great. I used them with the internal knee pad and they worked great. They fit well for a guy not as thin as he used to be but not quite obese yet either. I am able to move, bend and otherwise do gyrations with no problem at all.
I like the front pocket which are really easy to access especially when I have a battle belt on. The various pockets work well too.
