This was first bought to solve an issue with the lack of holsters to fit a 6in 1911. It is constructed well. The ability to strap it on a belt and walk around the woods is in theory, a simple task. The actual application of it is where the inefficiency comes to light. Unholstering the weapon becomes slow, and clumsy. This is because the way to strap it to a belt leaves much slop. This then gives the user too much vertical up and down movement. This is counterproductive to the drawing of the weapon. The next issue is the distance from the body the weapon then sits. This becomes a heavy piece that fights against gravity and starts to wear on the user. The thumb strap rubs the wrist or arm of the user as they walk, a bit annoying. Now once this was discovered through use I then saw where this would shine. The 6in 1911 was a designated deer gun for dispatching deer in my jurisdiction that were hit by cars but not dead. To keep this with me but not go through the struggle of holstering it on my belt every night I found that the molle straps work best woven through the straps of my rifle bag. This is now easy to access and quicker to deploy as it is now in a more advantageous position.
The ability to put in multiple guns into this makes this worth getting especially if you use it on a pack interior or exterior. As not all activities require the same tools, neither do all excursions require the same weapon. This does make it nice to have options.
