Washing Instructions

Bags and packs are important pieces of gear for any outdoorsman. From backpacks to hydration bags, these packs make it possible to easily transport essential supplies. First responders also need durable outdoor bags, like weapon cases used to carry firearms securely. Regardless of who is using them, however, these packs and bags are bound to become soiled over time. By washing your bags from Condor Outdoor regularly and using the proper care techniques, you can keep them in top condition.

Remove All Accessories First

Before you start washing your bag, be sure to empty it out completely. Besides removing personal items from all compartments and pockets, you’ll need to take off any detachable straps, pockets, and smaller bags. These items need to be washed separately. If the bag has a metal frame, remove it. Leave the pockets completely unzipped, and cut away any loose threads near zipping areas so they don’t get snagged during the washing process.

How to Wash Outdoor Packs

Follow these steps to properly wash your bags and packs:

  1. Apply a small amount of dish soap to any exterior or interior stains and scrub with a soft brush or toothbrush.
  2. Fill your tub with about six inches of lukewarm water, adding a small amount of gentle laundry detergent. Using lukewarm water helps to protect the color of the fabric, which can be damaged by hot water.
  3. Use a soft brush or cloth to scrub the bag, focusing on particularly dirty areas or spot stains. For ground-in stains and hard-to-reach crevices, scrub with a toothbrush. Use a soft sponge on mesh areas to avoid damage. Turn the bag inside-out and wash the interior as well.
  4. Drain the dirty water and rinse the bag thoroughly.
  5. Absorb excess water from the bag with a thick towel.
  6. Leave all the zippers unzipped and hang it upside down. Allow the bag to air-dry in a shaded area with good air flow to help any remaining odors drift away. Make sure it’s completely dry before being used again or stored.
