Awesome for the price Review by S (MD) 5/29/2016 6:42 PM
I carry my Venture pack everywhere. It holds my stuff for work, school, day hikes, staying the night at a friend's, and even emergency gear. I chose the Venture because it has good organization features and it is comfortable! The bag is plenty roomy and it keeps my work and school stuff away from my other crap, some of which smells of smoke sometimes :D The waist belt should really be shorter - I'm 6' but light built and if I were much thinner I'd have a problem with it - but the design itself is great for allowing you to turn your torso, and I love that it's removable (I usually keep it tied to the bottom). If you have the main compartment considerably under capacity, anything attached to the side webbing like a water bottle pouch will wobble a lot. Not a big deal, but the webbing there is wider than usual and I suspect if it weren't this wouldn't happen. My real problem is that one of the zipper teeth on the 'admin' compartment got messed up somehow and the zippers couldn't pass it; luckily it was right near the bottom so I just tied the zipper below it to the webbing and only use the other, but if it were an inch or two higher I would have to replace the entire zipper. I am the second owner, so I can't say for sure the first didn't abuse it which is why I'm not chewing this bag out over it. If I ever have to replace it at least I'll have YKKs on my most-used compartment. A friend liked mine so much he got himself one and uses it for backcountry camping trips.

Awesome pack Review by Cory (Ft. Worth Texas) 11/4/2014 4:53 AM
I was looking for a pack to use as a get home bag. My circumstances require that I work about 50 miles from home so if I have to hike home I'm looking at at least a 2 day trip. I purchased the Condor Venture pack in coyote tan after a lot of research, and comparisons to other packs of similar size. I am so impressed with this pack it has plenty of room for everything I expect to need. I also like the expandable compartment between the main pack and the rear compartment. It works great to keep my rain gear secure but easily accessible. The padded waist belt with molle attachments is also a great feature not found on other packs in this size and price range. it can easily be used to attach pouches, holsters and/or knife sheaths. The padded shoulder straps are comfortable even when fully loaded. I attached my H20 water bottle pouch on the pals webbing on the side and also have a hydration bladder inserted into the hydration compartment. I have thoroughly gone over every attachment point and haven't found any issues with construction. The sewing is top notch, the zippers function flawlessly and I am impressed with the hook and loop strap holders to keep them from flopping around. I didn't have to purchase strap holders seperately. Everything seems to be so well thought out about this pack I highly recommend this to anyone looking for a well made, affordable 2-3 day pack or just for use as a day pack.

Hiker/camper Review by DDT (The Great Northwest) 10/5/2012 12:21 AM
I've had my venture pack for about a week now and overall I'm pretty happy with it. I originally chose this one over others it because of s balance between price and features. 'It's fairly rugged , comfortable and has lots of storage. The compartments and pockets were thought out pretty well IMO, but I'm still a little iffy on the expandable stash pocket . On one hand, it's handy if you want to just dump something quickly into your pack that you're carrying, like a windbreaker or a bottle of water. On the other hand, you really have to cinch down the top compression straps to keep it closed when the pack's main compartment isn't full; otherwise, it has a tendency to flap open while you're moving around with it on your back. The straps and waist belt are well padded and have mesh on them for breath ability. I also like the fact that the waist belt has MOLLE webbing on it so that you can attach small pouches or gear to it. The pack by itself is a little heavy, but it's a fair tradeoff given the pack's rugged construction. I've also used it to transport my laptop - here was plenty of room in the main compartment for the laptop and my gear, though the opening directly above the laptop pocket was a bit of a tight squeeze for my laptop. Again, I'm pretty pleased with the backpack overall - the only things I would change would be to put some sort of fastener at the top of the stash pocket like a strap and side release buckle so that it would stay closed without cinching down the compression straps, and I would make the zipper opening to access the laptop sleeve just a tad bit wider. Otherwise it's a great pack so far.
