PHANTOM SOFTSHELL JACKET
- Product Review (submitted on July 5, 2019):
- I have had this jacket for several months and have held off on writing a review until I could use the jacket to it's full potential. One recent usage for this jacket was on my trek to the top of Mount St Helens recently, white out conditions, 10 degree weather, 35+ Mph winds, it worked amazing at the top, kept me dry and the wind away. In the recent cold of 10-20 degrees, it has kept me warm (with proper layering). It's great by it's self for 40+ but below, I add the Alpha Microfleece or the same. I wear this jacket on all my outdoor activities, camping, fishing, hiking, climbing, tactical athlete events, military field problems, etc. The quality of the jacket was far better than most of the bad reviews have you believe. For the price you can't go wrong. I have used it extensively in the Pacific North West and it has stood up to some of the worst conditions it has to show here. The only downfalls are like previously noted; - The zipper could be re-designed alot better, it is hard to zip sometimes, and impossible with gloves. - The waist area should have a draw string, because wearing this jacket makes it seem like I am pregnant. - The sizes do fit small, I have always worn a Medium, I am 6'0 180lbs and Athletic/Slim build, but after reading reviews ordered a large; and the Large fit perfect, I can also layer with it not being to snug inside. - If it was Made in America and had at minimum some type of warranty, it would make this even better. Other than those, I Have had no complaints what-so-ever. I will continue to recommend this product to others.
